Employee Spotlight of the Month: Victoria Che - Accounting Assistant

Victoria Che hails from the exotic and breathtaking country of Vietnam. It was her birthplace and home during her formative years. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance in Vietnam before working in accounting for three years. Five years ago, Victoria decided to make the big move to Vancouver to start her brand new life. Her dream was to earn a Post-Graduate Diploma in Finance. During her first job in Canada, Victoria worked at the Canada Revenue Agency, where she assisted Canadian taxpayers with their tax return inquiries. This position inspired her in so many ways that she decided to continue working within the accounting industry.

Since November 2020, Victoria has been working for Imprint Plus in the role of an Accounting Assistant. Her position allows her to practice and further deepen her knowledge and skills in accounting. According to Victoria, keeping in touch with customers every day makes working with numbers more enjoyable. For Victoria, honesty, accountability, quality, and teamwork are the key to becoming the best version of herself. This inner confidence is what makes Victoria such a passionate hard worker.

What's the first thing on your mind every morning?

Every morning, my first thought is how I can work efficiently during the workday and continue to push my boundaries.

Describe your work at Imprint Plus in one sentence or phrase?

As an Accounting Assistant, my duties and responsibilities include handling accounts receivable and payroll.

What/who inspires you?

Throughout my life, I have been inspired by various people but the person who inspires me the most is my father. I consider him to be my first teacher. He was the one who taught me to believe in myself and never give up on my dreams. He is very fond of the quote, "Where there is a will, there is a way."

Where do you see Imprint Plus in 5 years?

Imprint Plus is growing and expanding in the name badge industry. I am confident that we can surpass our competitors and become the leading company in the name badge supply industry in five years.

Tell us one thing we don't know about you?

I’m a cat lover. My family adopted a cool tabby cat after I left Vietnam, and I can't wait to meet him when I return home. He goes by the name Qi Qi, which means Seven in Mandarin.

What book are you reading at the moment?

Currently, I'm reading a manga series called "One Piece", which tells a story about a group of pirate crews attempting to find the greatest treasure known as One Piece. I thoroughly enjoy Japanese mangas, especially historical and supernatural genres.

What’s your favorite TV show?

On Netflix, I'm watching Bridgerton, which is based on Julia Quinn's best-selling romance series. Every season, the characters get better and better.

What's your go-to productivity trick?

Creating a to-do list before a workday is super helpful. It helps me prioritize urgent tasks that need to be resolved as soon as possible and keep my tasks well-organized. On top of that, it reduces the stress of having to meet daily and weekly deadlines.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

I attribute my success to my passion and creativity. I am more efficient and productive when I am passionate about my job and put in 200% of my effort. My creative approach to overcoming obstacles increases my chances of success.

What was your first job?

I started working as an accountant at an Australian public accounting firm after my graduation in Vietnam. It helped me get my foot in the door of the accounting industry, despite the fact that accounting was not my major from the beginning..

What's the worst job you've ever had, and what did you learn from it?

Every job I have had has been a great job because I gained more knowledge and experience!

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

During the summer, you will probably find me hiking on trails in North Vancouver or Burnaby. In addition to spending time with friends, I explore new restaurants in our neighborhood. Over the winter, I stay home and enjoy the warm and cozy atmosphere, or sleep on weekends.

What's one thing that surprised you about working at Imprint Plus?

At Imprint Plus, I was blown away by the multi-cultural atmosphere. This place is made up of people of many different ethnicities. I was a bit nervous when I started working in the company since I was a newcomer and unsure of how to get along with others. Imprint Plus employees are exceptionally friendly and supportive. I'm so glad to work with them.
