Employee spotlight of the month: Anatolii Foster -Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor

Anatolii Foster grew up in Russia, in the city of Vladivostok, which in its own way is quite similar to Vancouver, surrounded by the ocean and nature. He graduated from the Russian Customs Academy with a Bachelor’s in Economics and Enterprise Management in 2005. After successfully completing his studies, he traveled around Asia and Europe, exploring different cultures and cuisines. During his childhood, Anatolii was encouraged to excel in sports and explore the great outdoors.

Equipped with knowledge, experience, and a great personality, Anatolii values trust and collaboration between people. His positive contribution to the company in such a short time has been greatly appreciated by his teammates. He is said to be organized, efficient, and works hard on the right things. Anatolii is a happily married man who was blessed with a lovely baby girl in 2019.

What's the first thing on your mind every morning?

To feed my cats, I have two 13-year-old British shorthair cats. I brought them with me from Russia. They’re always hungry in the morning and my day starts with feeding them good food.

Describe your work at Imprint Plus in one sentence or phrase?

Life is about balance, be content but never stop improving yourself.

What/who inspires you?

My family.

Where do you see Imprint Plus in 5 years?

A well-known Name Badge manufacturer that will have grown two-fold by 2025.

Tell us one thing we don’t know about you?

TI used to be a member of the leading regional rowing team in Vladivostok, and I have won multiple awards.

What’s your resolution this year?

To learn music notes, so I could play the piano for my little daughter.

Send a shoutout to one of your colleagues? What do you want to tell them and why?

To my warehouse team. We work really hard, and I’m proud to be a part of this team. Great job!

I also want to send a shoutout to Vicky Morrison as she has been with the company for more than 20 years and is still a very valuable employee. She helps several teams and is more than capable to work in different departments.

What book are you reading at the moment?

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

What’s your favorite TV show?

Babylon 5. I’m a space-driven person. Here are my favorite TV shows: Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse; and also movies like Interstellar, Star Wars, Oblivion.

If you could be a superhero or superpower, who or what would it be?

Nick Fury – somebody has to organize the superheroes ☺

What song best describes your work ethic?

Flight of the Bumblebee - Rimsky-Korsakov.

What’s your favorite Imprint Plus product and why?

Being ecofriendly myself, my favorite feature in our Name badges is that they’re reusable and fully recyclable.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life what would it be?

A boiled egg. I have been eating boiled eggs in the morning for the last 15 years, and I think I can do it for another 15-20 years.

Coffee or tea?

Medium roast coffee with milk, in other words, “Cappuccino “.

What’s something you did recently at work that made you smile?

We fulfilled big orders as one big team and shipped them earlier to our customer distribution centers.  A job well done and done on time always makes me smile and I feel very proud of my team.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?

Good mood and positivity always keep me motivated.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

A night owl, I can go to bed after midnight and always regret about it in the morning.

Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

Michael Scott (The Office)

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

Perseverance - steady persistence in following a course of a purpose or goal.

What was your first job?

Car-washer! I was about 9-10 years old, and I used to do this every summer.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had, and what did you learn from it?

I believe that we choose a job, it does not choose us. The job that I did not fit into was as a Customs Broker. I was doing monotonous tasks every single day on my desk. I learned so much about customs procedures and nuances that help me even today. I never regret having had that job, but it just wasn’t my calling.

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

Spending time with my family. During summer, on the beach in West Vancouver, and in winter, amidst the mountains hiking.

What energizes you at work?

Seeing 5-star reviews from our customers.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at Imprint Plus?

Diversity and Multiculturalism.

What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?

Customer satisfaction. I sleep well knowing that our customers are happy when our job is done right.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position?

People might think that my main duty is to sort out the documentation at the office. However, more often than not, I have to step in into the warehouse work process to help my team out with packing, cleaning, shipping, labeling, counting, etc. Anything I can do to help my team, I am always ready!
