How Does the Magnet Work on My Name Badge?

We often get asked: "Is the magnet adhesive?" or "What makes it stick?" especially when customers receive their badge kit and see the separate magnetic components.

Here’s a simple explanation of how it works: 

 

Is the magnet adhesive?

No, the magnet is not adhesive. There’s no sticky layer or peel-off backing. It works through magnetic attraction between two parts:

• The metal plate, which is already attached to the back of your name badge
• The magnetic bar, which goes underneath your clothing

When you position the badge on the outside of your shirt and place the magnet behind the fabric, it locks into place through magnetic force. No clips, pins, or adhesives are required. 

 

Do I need to stick the magnet on anything?

No. You don’t need to attach the magnet with glue or tape. Simply place the badge where you want it, then slide the magnetic bar behind your clothing. The magnet will do the rest by securing itself to the metal plate.

Note: Always remove the magnet before washing your clothes, and keep it away from pacemakers or other medical devices.
