What’s the Best Way to Add a Logo to My Badge?

In both Design Studio and NPG:

1. Open your badge template
2. Locate the logo placeholder field
3. Click the placeholder or image upload tool
4. Choose your logo file from your computer
5. Adjust placement and sizing as needed

Once uploaded, your logo will appear directly on the badge layout, and you can preview the design before finalizing or printing. 

 

Best file formats and resolution

For sharp, clean results, your logo file should be:

• At least 300 DPI (dots per inch) for non-vector formats
• In one of the following formats:
  
  
  • PNG (preferred for logos with transparent backgrounds)
  • JPG (only if a solid background is acceptable)
  • EPS or AI (vector files are ideal for scaling without losing quality)

Avoid using screenshots or low-resolution web images, as they may appear pixelated or blurry when printed. 

 

Tips for positioning your logo 

Consistency is key to professional-looking badges. Place your logo in a standard location across all badge designs. The most common placements are:

• Top left, which leaves space for names and titles
• Top center, for a symmetrical, balanced look

Make sure the logo does not compete with important text, and keep spacing even to maintain a clean design. 

 

Pro tip: Use transparent PNGs

A transparent PNG allows your logo to blend seamlessly into the badge background. This is especially helpful when using colored backgrounds or custom layouts. It also helps avoid awkward white boxes around your logo, keeping the design sleek and intentional.
