Allow CookiesHow to Start Printing from a Specific Insert Number
When printing name badges using Imprint Plus insert sheets, it's common to have a few unused spots from previous print jobs. Rather than starting a new sheet every time, the NamePrint Graphics software allows you to choose where to begin printing on the sheet to help you avoid waste and get the most out of each insert.
This is especially useful for teams that print badges in smaller batches or add new employees frequently.
How to select a starting insert position
- Open your saved badge template in NamePrint Graphics.
- Navigate to the Data Entry screen where you’ve input your badge names and details.
- Click on the Print button to bring up the print setup window.
- In the print dialog box, locate the option that lets you select a starting badge position or insert location. This is typically shown as a grid or numbered layout that reflects your insert sheet.
For example, if the top-left corner (position 1) has already been used, you can choose to start printing from position 2, 5, or any other available spot. - Confirm your selection, then click Print to begin the job starting from the chosen position.
Why this matters
- Saves partially used sheets
- Reduces material costs over time
- Keeps badge layouts aligned correctly on each print
- Ideal for reprints or last-minute employee additions
Best practices
Before printing on a partially used sheet, run a test print on plain paper first to confirm alignment. Hold the blank insert sheet over the test print to ensure everything lines up exactly where you need it.
