Allow CookiesWhat File Formats and Resolutions Are Best for Badge Printing?
To ensure your name badges look sharp, professional, and consistent with your brand, it’s important to use the correct file types and resolution when uploading logos or other design elements. Whether you're creating badges through NamePrint Graphics, NPG Cloud, or Design Studio, high-quality artwork is key to a clean final product.
Accepted file formats
Imprint Plus supports the following file types for badge design:
- PNG
- JPG
- EPS (vector preferred)
- AI (Adobe Illustrator)
If possible, we recommend using vector files (EPS or AI). Vector artwork can be scaled to any size without losing clarity, making it ideal for logos and brand elements that need to look crisp on every badge.
Recommended resolution
For non-vector files like PNG or JPG, use a minimum of 300 DPI (dots per inch). This ensures your image prints cleanly without becoming pixelated or blurry. Low-resolution images may appear fine on screen but can degrade significantly when printed.
Tips for preparing your artwork
- Use transparent PNGs if you want your logo to appear without a background
- Avoid screenshots or images copied from websites, which are typically too low in resolution
- Double-check your colors and file size before uploading to make sure everything looks correct when printed
